Do you like Apples? How about them...

Hello again,

I know I'm kinda irregular with my posts ( not irregular like that, I eat my fiber mind you ) might be the ADHD in me dunno.  But last weeks news to hit was the Apple iPhone 4S.  Looks like the 2nd, better, iteration of the iPhone 4.  Although I and many others were hoping for wholesale changes, when I look at it this is really a step up from the iPhone 4.  The form factor worked so why change it?  I don't think the form factor was the issue, but really the lack of a bigger screen.  I mean with all these new models around with 4.5" screens an iPhone owner could start feeling inadequate or undersized.

But with all the new features I think this one will standout.  An 8 MP camera upgrade with new optics.  This is another big leap forward with the camera.  It has been moving this way with smartphones over the past couple years, but this one I think has made the jump to where carrying any other point-and-shoot camera is pointless.  Flash, editing on the fly, and great optics and resolution all make a quick camera worth it.  The new iOS 5 allowing for quick snap pix and now with the high rez its got the 1080p's for video that everyone regards as the gold standard (until the next thing comes, 3D, holographic, 1600p, etc.).

The A4 Chip being replaced with the A5 dual core picking up the speed, seems like a small change but the numbers may differ a lot when it comes to multitasking and graphics and battery life too.  And a small change but may turn out to please many is the multi-antenna usage of the phone.  They are claiming to improve cell phone signal and faster speeds with this but until seen with my own i's it will be hard to believe.

iOS 5 will be huge overhaul as well but this will be applied to the iPhone 3GS and up.  Very impressed with the changes.  I will need to get my hands on this and play around with the notifications and new apps before I do a review on this.

Overall, my iPhone 3GS compared to the 4S will see huge differences.  Will have to post back with actual likes (or possible dislikes) with the new changes.  Still a fan of Apple's iPhone and as much as my resistance comes to their products I respect the innovations Steve Jobs brought to us.

I heard that!

whats kickin,
Yep another Saturday, which means a bunch of college football.  For me it will be pulling for my alma mater, the Auburn Tigers and watching the other top five teams battle it out in early season play.  I mean what else are fall weekends for?

Anywho I just bought these new headphones and I had to post about them.  I bought the Klipsch S4i headphones.  I had bought a pair of their ear speakers before and I loved them, but stupid me lost them so smart couldn't find them later.  They are a little expensive but if you are an audiophile than you will love the sound.  They have dual drivers in each ear so the bass and treble really stand out on both my Macbook and my iPhone.  For the sound they produce they are worth every penny.  Less than the Bose headphones and sound better.

I needed a good pair like this for when I travel.  Cant find a pair much better, well not in the price range at least.  Have to be able to hear them coming.  Now if only they could make them bluetooth wireless for each ear...

Protect this House!

So I just got a new surge protector for my office space, bc my $8.99 power strip just isnt gonna cut it when lightning strikes.  It hit the neighbors house and took out their stereo and a macbook, so I felt like I shouldn't risk it anymore.

I found the large model Belkin surge protector like the one I had in our living room for $25 off Newegg.com (down from $40).  I dont feel like I need to go on much about Newegg.com here, but I assume if you are reading this you already know how awesome a website it is.  Always has great prices on just about everything and it gets here guick.  But the Surge protector show below has 12 outlets and 8 of them are rotating outlets for those overweight transformer plugs that take up more than one space.  It has cable protection and a cord management clip at the end to keep it all nice.  Thing guaranties up to 4320 joules of surge protection and will back up to $300,000 on connected equipment damaged.  Belkin = win.

Now that I got it up, the power protection that is, time to watch some pre-season football while wasting some zombies.

New Hardware

Hey its been forever since I wrote my first post, but I figured I would post something to get the ball rolling again.  Sooo....

I beat Killzone 3 a couple of months ago.  The single player campaign was great all the way up to the end.  It ended oddly and for a first person shooter, it ended in a starcraft firing at the Helgast.  I enjoyed the music and graphics entirely though.  The controls have improved from KZ2 so that was a plus.  Multiplayer has been upgraded as well.  Great multiplayer matches with more customization.  It is a blast to play and the kill beep keeps you addicted.  Overall I give it a 8.5 out of 10.  Great game and has lots of replayability.

The next thing I have been eyeing is the release of the new iPhone (4S/5 Whatever).  I want to know details and dates like everyone else and im ready to upgrade.  Still not sure whats on it, but im pretty confident it will be a big upgrade from my 3GS.  A flash, dual procs, bigger hard drive (everybody wants that... wink wink nudge nudge) and will have a better screen.  Anyway that is the new hardware im waiting on as well as the anouncement of the PS Vita release date for the US.  Since I lost my PSP Go on an airplane in January I've been without *tear.

As far as the Game line up coming not much to say just the titles, which speak for themselves. I'll let you guess which one I pre-ordered today.

Resistance 3, RAGE, Battlefield 3, Uncharted 3, Call of Duty: MW3
